Sign up for free with your email or Google account. You get 3 lead magnets and 100 MB of storage on the free plan.

Upload a lead magnet
Go to Lead Magnets in the dashboard and click Create New.
- Give your magnet a title (e.g., "2026 Marketing Playbook")
- Drag and drop your PDF file or click to browse
- Set a custom URL slug (optional) — this becomes
hooklead.io/m/your-slug - Click Create
Your PDF is now hosted and ready to share. HookLead renders it directly in the browser — no downloads required.
Configure email gating
By default, your lead magnet requires visitors to enter their name and email before they can view the content. You can customize this in the magnet settings:
- Full gate — Email required to see any content
- Partial gate — Show the first few pages free, then gate the rest
- No gate — Public access (still tracks views)
When someone fills out the gating form, they receive an email with a unique access link. HookLead captures their info as a lead automatically.
Share your link
Every lead magnet has a shareable link like hooklead.io/m/your-slug. Share it anywhere:
- Email campaigns and newsletters
- Social media posts (LinkedIn, Twitter/X)
- Paid ads landing pages
- Your website or blog
- Slack, Discord, or community groups
HookLead tracks the source of every visit, so you can see which channels drive the most leads.
Track engagement & score leads
Head to Analytics to see real-time data:
- Views — Total and unique page views over time
- Leads captured — How many emails you've collected
- Conversion rate — Views to leads percentage
- Traffic sources — Where your visitors come from
- Per-page engagement — Which pages get the most attention
Every lead gets an automatic engagement score based on pages viewed, time spent, and return visits. Check the Leads page to see scores and identify your hottest prospects.
A/B test for better conversions
Want to test which version of your lead magnet converts better? Create an A/B test:
- Open a lead magnet and click Add Variant
- Upload a different version (different cover, title, or content)
- Set traffic split (e.g., 50/50)
- HookLead randomly assigns visitors and tracks conversion per variant
Check Analytics to see which variant wins, then set the winner as your primary version.

Is there a limit on leads?
No — all plans include unlimited lead captures. Limits apply to the number of lead magnets and storage only.
Can I export my leads?
Yes. Go to the Leads page and click Export CSV to download all your leads with their scores, tags, and activity data.

Can I use my own domain?
Yes — Tier 1 includes 1 custom domain, Tier 2 includes 5, and Tier 3 has unlimited. Configure this in Settings.
How does lead scoring work?
HookLead assigns points based on engagement: pages viewed, time spent reading, return visits, and downloads. Higher scores mean more engaged leads. You can see each lead's score breakdown on their detail page.
